- Face value: each card minted has a face value expressed either in Fiat currency (all currencies supported) or in any virtual currency used by the issuing merchant such as game credits or number of products.
- Balance Loading: the Face Value of the balance is loaded into the cards via the Atomicrails smartcontract.
- Balance unloading: anytime a customer redeems the card for products at the issuing merchant the equivalent balance is unloaded from the card and the new balance is updated on the blockchain.
